24 October, Prishtina – Galeria Qahili will open the solo exhibition “Remembrance through Colour” by Gemb Xërxa, curated by Nita Qahili, on 31 October 2025, starting at 7:00 PM.

With this exhibition, Gemb presents all of his artistic cycles created since the beginning of his engagement in the art world. What characterises his work most is the colours, processed and dispersed across the canvas surface, through which he explores various social themes.

“Colour is the dominant element in all the cycles, regardless of the social themes being addressed. Through its combination and exploration, the artist presents a unique approach to measuring and documenting the process of development and growth. Gemb’s memory is closely tied to everyday life: the colours of buildings, streets, squares, trees, plants, animals, the shifting light throughout the day, the abundance of advertisements, and the patterns of people’s clothing, all of which together create a continuous choreography of light and colour.” – excerpt from the curatorial concept of the exhibition

Gemb Xërxa finished his studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Prishtina, in the Department of Painting, class of Professor Valbona Rexhepi. Over the years, he has held solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows both in Kosovo and the region.

The exhibition will be on view through 20 November 2025.
